I’m Monica and used to write poems as naturally as breathe. Then in the early morning hours of Christmas 2015 my life changed forever. I had a lithium induced seizure and a coma lasting 2 weeks followed. When I came to, I was in nursing home. I was unable to walk, read or speak without stuttering until late February. Today life is still challenging, but hopeful. I suffer neuropathy in my legs and some permanent memory loss. So this blog is proof that the writer in me won’t lay down and die.
