Rejecting the body, thoughts and purpose

Transformation – yes, temporally reversed

Extraordinarily insignificant bits of brilliance

I close my simple eyes and become something else

Happy paint dripping, dancing upon Pollack’s modern life

Lungs – engulfing Earhart’s desegregated clouds

Rebellious, pointless garb and armor – Godly Joan d’Arc

Whorish gold leafs – Klimt’s self-serving sacred dreams

Faithful shoes of a moving fighter – Queen Tubman

Frida’s lovers combative brush, laughing bottle

Homespun draped upon a giant holy man – Gandhi disagrees

Eyes open reluctantly, slowly – why do it at all?

All yesterday’s gods and goddesses – demand fearless action

I am a heart-felt Shakespeare

A much lesser Bard, of course

Confession, I am a Yank dreamer

Conjuring up clever deadly trysts

Whilst cloaked wizards poof away

Oh Isle of Shires, Hams and Fields

Eternal rolling greens and bogs

I think you house mystic beings

Or perhaps medieval wrongs

Cold tyranny and pompous gallantry

Schizophrenic in their historic dance

Rule the world for just a moment

Alas, globally labeled stiffs and bores

Until salt aged pubs are examined

If only I could cross the pond

Is there a start and end for this illogical adventure

I possess more than you can ever fathom

Obscenely mythical tales via hypnotic tones

This storyteller soul is generously corrupt

Curious sun settles beside you. Intently listening

Sword and dagger exploits with scurvy, salted pirates

Befriending a ancient world rooftop Sherpa in thin air

Haggling a Mekong river merchant to tears

Sleeping upon Serengeti terrain with a massive lion guard

Shall I end with a galactic trek light-years away?

I see now that it may sound far-fetched

Immensely gifted in oratorical prowess

Looks that exemplify commanding presence

Unwavering resolve during  critical moment

Are such traits sought by the lowly simpletons?

Is humanity, loyalty and global awareness devalued

Look back at history’s fallen giants and learn

Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin gave all and more

Zapata, Rivera, Kahlo and Villa

All wrong and right for exquisite people

All shout dirty drunken songs of freedom

Vulgar, opinionated and grotesquely armed

Multicolored tragedy forges troubling resistance

Eat your imperfect tortillas, nopalitos and arroz

Tequila for courage and to wash over all scars

There are no shameful acts to pardon

Dear beloved and disgraceful creatures

Your tortured hearts feed a flawed desert garden

Heart born in Aztec temple

screaming bravery at frightened Sun

Hands born with wet-back callous

crying silently into farmer’s field

Stomach is sold and now called mule

failure means death to my enslaved house

Mind is born while breathing my Torreon

Spirit reborn, ablaze and screaming at frightened Sun

Death is polite Latino silence at the polls

Rise up hermanos y hermanas eternity is ours

Resting feet upon a mossy knoll

Blanketed in stout British Isle fog

I’m beginning to feel historically told

Footing lands of feudal black plague

Hearing the hooves of rape and pillage

The roars of coronations, births and war

Cries of land-tethered and starving serfs

While noble lords and ladies laugh and scoff

All will pay in the great equalizer’s wrath

It has no end and we all end in no

Living History

Forward backward is the movement

For a youthful, unaware mind

Bound, aged and crafted pages

Facilitate unconscionable travels and deeds

Developing sweet crushes

For Egyptian Boy King long dead

Scaling Eiffel Tower thus becoming

A living fused part of  Paris and her soul

Repeatedly risking life for barely living slaves

With abolitionists blood and vigor in veins

Blessed are the yesterdays rife with terror, joys and fight

Today is fat and lazy with complacency to overcome

Virus

Fell asleep beneath a dead man tree

Confederate ghosts, both living and dead

Use it to educate powerless folks

Hate is the rope on the lynching soul

Oppressive stench lives on …

Permeates skin, heart and mind

If allowed to exist, all become slaves

All white folk and people of color

The haves and have-nots get it too

Clueless Conservatives and Well-meaning Liberal

All religions, dogmas and atheists

Are you all tired yet?

Of course you’re not!

If you didn’t have petty, stupid thoughts

What the hell would you ever do?

Viva Mexico!

Contrary to your popular belief

We are not brown because we consume dirt

Contrary to your vomitus lies

We do not plague your cities with crime

Contrary to your oppressive ways

Our accent-infused voices will be heard

Contrary to your delusional history

The people of frijoles, arroz and tortillas were here FIRST!

Pancho Villa, Emilio Zapata, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and Cesar Chavez

All live and breathe in our hearts and minds

Viva Mexico!  Viva Mexico! Viva Mexico!
